David Simpson, Pastor
Pastor Dave has been serving in full time ministry work for more than 30 years. After teaching on staff at Central Baptist Christian School, Pastor Dave and his wife Cathy surrendered to the call of full time missionary work in 1991. After completing missionary training with the BBFI and spending 2 years fund raising, Pastor Dave and his family moved to Kenya, East Africa to serve the Kenyan people as a church planter.
Pastor Dave and Cathy spent 13 years on the mission field and partnering with over 100 churches, equipping them for ministry and disciple-making before the Simpson family relocated back to Portsmouth, Virginia, where Pastor Dave joined Central Baptist Church as the evangelism Pastor.
In 2012, Pastor Dave and Cathy felt God call them to serve full time on staff at Global Youth Ministry in Chatsworth, Georgia, where they joined in the training and equipping of college students to serve the Lord through missions.
In 2018, God called Pastor Dave and Cathy to serve at The Rescue Church, where Pastor Dave is excited to be ministering to the people of Portsmouth and live out his passion for making disciples who make disciples!
Pastor and Cathy have 3 children and 4 grandchildren, who all currently live in the Hampton Roads area.
